Patient Confidentiality
Central Carolina Women's Center is serious about patient confidentiality. Patient confidentiality was one of the deciding factors when choosing an electronic medical record (EMR) product in early 2006. Our EMR, digiChart ® , has the appropriate safeguards (e.g., encryption; message authentication, user verification, etc.) to protect physician and patient privacy. Individuals with access to our EMR are subject policies and procedures regarding the entry, management, storage, transmission and distribution of patient information. To read more about digiChart technology, please click on the link. http://www.digichart.com/obgyn_technology.html.
The medical record, whether it is on paper or electronic, is the property of Central Carolina Women's Center. You may obtain a copy of your medical record by signing a Medical Record Release form. Patients requesting a copy of their medical record are charged a fee of $8.00. Note that you may be asked to provide a picture identification to confirm identify.
